GETTING AROUND LAKEVIEW
Getting around Lakeview is a cinch with its plentiful public transportation offerings. Residents and visitors alike can hop on the “L” on Addison or Belmont, with access to the Brown, Red, and Purple lines. Numerous Chicago Transit Authority buses traverse back and forth throughout Lakeview, making commutes a breeze to and from downtown.

EXPLORING LAKEVIEW
Lakeview is home to a large variety of entertainments including its veritable smorgasbord of delectable restaurants, its rich and energetic nightlife scene, and easy access to the oldest Major League Baseball stadium. There’s something for everyone who’s willing to look in Lakeview.

For nature lovers, Lakeview has access to the 1,208 acre Lincoln Park and is home to the Jarvis Migratory Bird Sanctuary, an eight-acre woodland and wetland habitat. History buffs should also be aware that just outside the sanctuary is a totem pole from the Kwagu’l First Nations tribe, depicting Kwanusila, the Amerindian tribe’s Thunderbird.

For the less outdoorsy, Lakeview boasts some of the most famous independent theaters in the Midwest. You can catch a Blue Man Group show at the Briar Street Theater, take part in a Brew and View at the Vic (if you’re not catching a concert at this iconic venue), or enjoy a performance at Theater Wit. If you’re more into bars and boutiques than theater, nightlife and shopping options abound with a number of unique shops and watering holes strung along Lincoln Avenue, Clark Street, Belmont Avenue, and Broadway Avenue.
